Convincing the child to help clean...
misc // housework
Sophie's room is a bit messy lately. Usually we do cleanup time together, but I haven't had time (or enough balance) to spend much time in there with her lately. I know she loves to help us with various tasks around the house, so I encourage her to help whenever possible. I'm hoping this will only work to my advantage down the road and in turn make her a better housekeeper than I am.

Sometimes we need a little more motivation than others. That's where this list comes in. Most of it is common sense stuff, really. Some of it is repeated between the links, but some of the links have great ideas in the comments as well.

If anyone has any other helpful links or tips/tricks to share, please feel free to leave a comment here.

I haven't checked out the links yet, but one thing that helped Lorna keep her room clean was that I trained her to put a toy away when she was done with it before getting out a new one. This kept the mess to a minimum.

Also, her room is organized in that there is a drawer, box, shelf for everything and it's all within her reach to put away.

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know. :)
