Signing Update, part deux
Of course, Sophie surprised me with a little more signing today. I wasn't able to catch any of it on film yet, but I'm working on it.

This morning, she started signing baby and was singing a little song. It dawned on me that she was trying to sing the Baby Signing Time! theme song while signing baby. I would not be surprised if she starts signing signing time within the next few weeks.

While waiting for my hair stylist this afternoon, we were sitting outside the studio reading. Normally, Sophie will sign book and say "ree?" when she wants to read a book. Today, she signed read! I was so impressed.

She might not be any closer to walking, but her vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds!

I'd like to point out that Stephen Hawking isn't really big on walking either, but he's got a pretty firm grip on how the universe works, so walking ain't all that. ;)

I am very glad we decided to stick with it. She seems to really be enjoying it and we think it's just too adorable. I would recommend signing with babies to anyone now, especially using the Signing Time! system. :)

Jack started talking at just under 9 months, signing at 11 months, and walking at almost 14 months. He has an insane vocabulary. I credit it to Signing Time! and his signing books, his books in general, and my incessant babbling.
Also, once they walk, it's so much harder to keep them where they're supposed to be!!!

I dread her walking since chasing her down now is difficult enough! ;)

Two words -- bungee cords.

If that doesn't work, three words -- walk in closet.

:D Just kidding. I just use that as a way to keep people from asking us to babysit for them. LOL I really do look forward to when Sophia chooses to start walking on her own. She rips up and down the hallway with her rolling walker, but that's a game. She still hasn't bought into bipedalism as a way of transportation yet, but I'm sure it is only a matter of a few weeks.

Yeah, she'll probably start while we're at my parents and she'll want to walk up and down the stairs the whole time. Great fun.
