Even though I'm considering going back to work, I'm still very tempted to have my own domain. I don't trust our server here to be reliable enough to host a website for us, so I've been looking into other options. One of the hosting companies I've considered is Concentric, with their shared web hosting plan. I still have some shopping around to do, but their basic plan seems to have about all I'd need. Of course, once I have a plan in place and actually have the website up and running, I'll have a better idea of what I'll need.
I suppose it's time for me to get cracking on CSS finally. ;)

As many of you are aware, I know many mothers who are starting or who have started a home business. I see the same questions over and over again: "How do I direct more traffic to my site?" and "Does anyone know where I can have a page built that will fit my needs and look professional?" I never have answers for these people because I do not design web pages (although I would love to) and I don't know as much as I would like about advertising or search engine optimization.
The people at Website Pros, on the other hand, do know about page design and marketing. Not only do they offer these services, they also offer a web design affiliate program. This is a win-win situation because affiliates can earn up to 20% and Website Pros winds up with more customers. Once I have my blog on its own domain (eventually), I will probably sign up for this program.

I got a chuckle out of this page while reading the first paragraph about Gainesville web design. It mentions the company headquarters for 352 Media is in Gainesville, Florida, but they also service Gainesville, Georgia out of their Georgia office. What I want to know is, what about Gainesville, Texas?
All that silliness aside, they seem to be a pretty respectable web design and web development company, with offices around the country. I was pretty impressed to learn they won 14 awards last year alone, and a total of 44 awards since 2004. Even though it's a fairly small company (only 50 or so employees), it doesn't appear as though this is just some silly little amateur company trying to jump into a market that is completely saturated. With that many awards, I would think they know their stuff.
In the event I ever DO start up my own business, it's quite possible I would look to someone like 352 Media Group for my website. I think that step is quite far off, however... but someday.
