my aunt and uncle are getting a divorce after 32 yrs. Wowzers. I emailed them both to wish them happiness no matter what happens and will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

Today I cut grass, went shopping, and went to a ride to the river. It was pretty hot today-- 92 or so. But the breeze was nice and the birds chirped all day.

I believe we are going out for breakfast tomorrow.

I'm trying to plan a weekend in Orlando but really do not want to go to a theme park. But Dh wants to go to the new Aquatica by SeaWorld.
They do have a FunCard for sea world buy a ticket and get the rest of the year free. I like Sea World but it is not my OHMYGODIGOTTAGOTHERE place. About the only park I would want to get year round passes to is Epcot. Don't get me wrong-- I enjoy theme parks but once you have seen them it is pretty much old hat to me. My apologies to theme park lovers everywhere.

We may end up doing that though simply because I cannot pass up a good deal like that. I would rather go to a flea market during the day and then to the casino at night. Yes friends, FL has Indian casinos and casino boats. :)

I am not ruling anything out other than Disney as we cannot afford those season passes even w the FL resident discount.

If you live in FL let me know what you like doing. I have done St. Augustine a zillion times since I live 30 min from there so we wanted to go someplace else (within 2 or 3 hour drive of Palatka)

Karaoke

  • May. 10th, 2008 at 7:36 PM
Hello! We were planning to go karaoke tonight and I wanted to ask some suggestions on places.

I went through posts and the internet and three places that a few people suggested are:

Norazo http://www.norazousa.com/

Outter Marker http://www.outer-marker.com/viewport.htm

Mac Karaoke

We sort of want margaritas too so if you know if these places or other places have margaritas, that would be great. I don't know if most Karaoke places have margaritas. Or opinions on what is the best place or new suggestions on places would be great.

Thanks!

text help

  • May. 10th, 2008 at 5:38 PM
Text has never been my strong point when it comes to icons. So, I come here for help. I've looked through the memories but really didn't find anything that could help me. What I'm really wanting to know is how to get good clean crisp text on my icons. My attempts never come out as clean as I want them to.

Lost African Grey Parrot

  • May. 10th, 2008 at 5:29 PM
Lost Wednesday evening in East Plano, near Bowman Jr High (Jupiter and Park).

Was supposedly found and taken to Wylie, and then back, and then lost again "near a lake" (Bob Woodruff Park maybe?)

Cash reward if recovered. Please spread the word.

I went and got me one of them "Twitter" things. It doesn't work with my phone yet, but I think I figured out how to get it to post here every night.

Still don't understand Facebook, doubt I'll log into that one ever again.

Yeah, I have another stupid MySpace page because friends and relatives (RELATIVES!) bugged me about it. So, if you want to add me, shoot me a comment with your page and I'll add you since mine is set to private.

That is all.

17 Silent Flower Icons

  • May. 10th, 2008 at 2:41 PM
Been messing around with coloring and such. Though you guys might like to see the results.

Beneath the cut are 17 textless flower icons. They don't really count as bases, but if you want to add your name or something to them that would be OK. Just don't modify them too much, okay?

Usual OI rules apply: credit is optional but appreciated, and if you take any of these please comment and let me know. Tell me which one(s) you took by filename or description. If you don't take any but you like some (or want to see more of a certain style!) please comment and let me know!

Tip 3: Textures
Tip 4: Lighting

I just got salmoned by a "weaksalmon".
I had just posted on lj, so this makes a lot of sense actually, now that I've read this. I didn't save our conversation, but she had no idea what was going on. She got pissed at me for iming her, and when I said it happens a lot to me with people with "salmon" in the name. She got worried it was a virus and said she would contact the aim support people.

Photoshop CS3's Exposure Tool

  • May. 10th, 2008 at 3:03 PM
->

Exposure is pretty much the Brightness/Contrast tool's raw counterpart. Learning it takes seconds.

Exposure Tool Tutorial )
Wheel Specs:

Rear 18" x 9.5" 5 lug x 114.3mm or 4.5" with a Positive 20mm Offset. Front 18" x 8.5" 5 lug x 114.3mm or 4.5" with a Positive 25mm Offset.

They are painted black with a polished dish. The rear dish is deeper than the front for that custom sporty look not to mention the added traction a 275cm wide tire will provide. I was planning to put 245 50 r18 tires on the front.

If you have a sports car and want to look and feel better about your ride these wheels are a definate must. I traded all my toys for these and they didnt fit my car. They are still in the box excluding the rears which have been fitted with USED Goodyear Eagle F1 EMT Runflat tires 275 40 R18 20 - 10% tread.

The rims are valued at $375 each. I will let them go for $800. I am taking a loss putting I traded $1500 worth of Radio Controlled Models for them...

IF YOU WANT TO KNOW IF THEY'LL FIT YOUR CAR GO TO Discount Tire website.

All I know is they don't fit my car...and the wife is sad about it. LOL

BSG News - No Spoilers!

  • May. 10th, 2008 at 3:50 PM
So, it sounds like plans are go for new series Caprica, a prequel spin-off of the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica.

Set just over 50 years before the attack of the Cylons against the colonies, as depicted in the miniseries, it will be a family/political intrigue drama, along the lines of 80s hit Dallas, not a space faring action adventure. The story of Caprica will follow 2 families, the Adamas (with now Admiral Adama I'm guessing as a pre-teen youngster), and the Graystones.

General idea is that the show will explain the origins of the first Cylon Centurions, and eventually their rebellion, resulting in the First Cylon War. Mr. & Mrs. Graystone are software designer and neurosurgeon, respectively. Their daughter is killed by terrorists, along with William Adama's mother and brother, and the Graystones meld their specialties to bring a digital AI imprint of their daughter back to life in a robotic form. This is the first attempt at a cylon, and the centurions stem from that. Joseph Adama (Bill's dad) is friends with the Graystones, but is disgusted by what they are doing, and I assume tries to stop them.

I don't know whether to be intrigued, or to say, "Hey, let's not meddle too much with a good thing, shall we?"

Thoughts?

No worries

Matt

We might think we cannot do certain things because they are too hard, take too much time, or cost too much money. But all we have to do is start. The Zohar says, in the portion of Vayera, "open to me an opening no wider than the eye of a needle and I will open to you the supernal gates." Even though the needle is small, it is complete. So too, any kind of growth can be small in the beginning, but as long as it is done with 100% effort, amazing things can follow.

What activity, hobby, career-change, relationship or spiritual commitment have you been putting off? Today, take a positive action step. All you have to do is to try with all your might. The Light will help you with the rest.

Wha- no class today?

  • May. 10th, 2008 at 5:54 AM
Sure feels like a lifetime since I went to school... and finals were a week ago. Tell me how time tricks the mind.

Was originally going to the gym today, but stomach didn't feel like it. Oh well, I exercised Monday through Thursday.

Happy Mother's Day (weekend) to all moms out there!

And seeing of Julia Roberts, here may be the best quote from her: "Republican comes in the dictionary just after reptile and just above repugnant."
If you are a Republican mom, please still have a Happy Mother's Day on me. After all, after hearing Hillary call Obama a rascist name, I can't say I can give the Democrats too much credibility either.

Wow, so many thoughts on mind now that school's out. Feel free to discuss any and everything.
