  • When something is difficult, Sophie says, "So heavy." I'm not exactly sure how this works, but that's the way it is. When trying to put macaroni and cheese on her fork, when the noodles won't stay on her fork they're "so heavy." When she's trying to put the bracelet back on her baby doll, it's "so heavy" to fasten (it's a simple Velcro type closure but she always turns it backwards). I don't know why, but I find this all highly amusing. There's a face and a sound that go along with this that just makes it that much better. B thinks it might be because we say, "so heavy!" when picking her up.
  • Sophie has named her baby doll "Sophie Kritter," which, of course, comes out sounding like "Sowie Tidder." Love it.
  • .
  • Miss Thang went up the little slide and then down again all by herself with no help from me after a few times of sliding together. She also managed to walk up a rather large plank so she could go down the big slide (all on her own). The only bad part about hanging out at the neighbors' house is Sophie loving their play fort just a bit too much. She hates leaving!
  • Sophie also played in the little play house last night and closed all the windows so she could throw them open and yell "peek-a-boo" (which still sounds like "piddaboo").
  • I had the back door open during dinner and Sophie kept announcing she could hear the kids playing ("Hear tids!"). She was so excited to go play with them she had a difficult time finishing dinner.
  • Lately, while reading our books, she has taken to eating the food off the page of the book (pretends to pinch at the picture with her fingers and put it to her mouth saying, "Mmmm, dood!"). She has also started tickling people and animals right on the page of the books ("tiddo tiddo tiddo" with her little fingers going wild over the picture). Seriously, when the heck did she get to be so funny??
  • Sophie likes to wear hats. She has a variety of hats she wears from time to time. Her favorites are the pompom hat, one of my straw hats, and Papaw's train cap.

There's probably more, but that's all I can remember for now.

In other somewhat slightly related news, I think my camera is coming down with some fatal disease. If you watch the videos (and bless you if you do, they're long and just of the Kritter playing with a ball, so exciting!), you'll here a clicking sound that simply shouldn't be there. I'm not sure what the deal is. It's also fighting to focus. I'm not sure if someone jacked with a setting or what, but that still shouldn't cause the clicking. :(

lol. Levi says 'poinky' if he steps on something, or something pokes him. I think he is combining 'pointy' and 'poky'. The first time he said it is when my face scrub got dumped into his bath water and the little sandy scrubby stuff in it was hurting his butt.

LOL I love it!! Sophie will do the same thing. She's finally starting to learn the difference between hot and cold and warm... sort of. ;)

I like how you wrote how she actually pronounces things, it makes it that much cuter to imagine. :)

I knew if I didn't I would forget how she was saying things. I don't want to forget. I really would like to get more video, but she doesn't perform on command. ;)

Thanks!

Awww the cuteness! I love it when they're so excited about the littlest thing. We've never done the beach ball thing, but a balloon....Holy heck man. She loves hitting that thing around. We try to keep it in the air and not let it touch the ground, which for some reason seems to be made of lava. How come all kids do this? I remember doing this. If were were crossing over something we should never fall because it was "lava!!"

I think it's something we're born with. LOL

Ooh yes, Sophie loves balloons. I almost got her one for V-day but didn't really want to mess with it. I think I might wait for her birthday.

I had to laugh while reading about the lava. I think you're right. I think every kid does that at some point. we always did it! LOL That's hilarious, really. I never thought about that.

You know... I just asked B about this and he says he never pretended there was lava. He's a freak. We also used to pretend there were crocodiles or alligators (again, he'd never done that).

It definitely is all kids - my parents got a patterned carpet for the living room, green with flowers on, and me & my sister had to cross the room only treading on the flowers, otherwise the crocodiles would get us.

I'm sure lava was used else where too.

And Sophie is just adorable. I wonder what would happen if she met [info]billzy's Keira? Would we have an over-dose of cute-ness?

I am SURE there would be serious cuteness overload. I would absolutely love to get them together since they're so close in age. Keira is only slightly older than Sophie. Too bad there's such a big pond in between us. :(

A fortnight's holiday in the North West of England sounds like a plan.

You could then work in meeting quite a crowd of us.

LOL Yeah... as soon as I win the Lottery.... ;)

I would certainly love to, though... if it weren't for the money and all... ;)

What about organising a house-swap? That would lower the accomodation costs considerably.

Still have to worry about airfare. That's probably the largest portion of the cost. *cringe*

With us being so far in debt right now, I know it won't happen any time soon. I need to find a job before i can start making plans like that, no matter how much I want to. ;)

Sensible, that. No point in bankrupting yourselves just to meet up with some crazy Brits you've met on the internet.

It's a pity that there isn't a halfway point we could all meet at really, but until they build floating hotels in the middle of the Atlantic, that's not going to happen.

LOL Very true. I actually had the same thought. ;)
[info]louenn wrote:

Plus, when they do build that floating hotel, it'll probably cost a packet to stay there anyway, and I'm willing to bet an awful lot of people would get sea-sick too.

LOL! Probably even more than the ice hotels since getting there would be quite the task. Wonder what they would do for parking... ;)

True. You'd not really need to take the car, though, so you could leave that at home, and have a bus or train organised to the ferry port which will take you to the hotel.

Lol...that's a gdiapers ball isn't it? Also love the wall color...my mom's camera was clicking, I can ask her what it was if you want.
[info]sm00bs wrote:

Haha, yes! I still have a mess of them left and I was giving them away left and right.

The wall color was here when we moved in. It's the typical builder beige (at least owners get to choose which shade of beige) and was here for the previous owners as well. I'm trying to get rid of it in some of the rooms. The whole main part of the house and our bedroom is that color, so it's a little overwhelming at times.

I would very much love to know what it was with your mom's camera that clicked. Could you hear it? Did she have to get it fixed? I just don't want to buy a new camera right now, you know? *sigh* Thanks!!

here's what my mom said
"Yes it did stop - I think I just changed the batteries oh and I hit to reset to reset it to the factory defaults and then it quit - I think that's what did it - I'm not sure what I had changed to make it click but I had been messing with it before it started clicking. Hope that works for your friend."

Re: here's what my mom said
Thanks! I don't notice it until I watch video I've taken. I hope it's gone now. B had been playing with my camera and messed around with the settings a bit, so it's possible I've taken care of it be setting it back to the settings I normally use.

I'm torn on what I'd get if I needed a new one. I like the size of mine, but I really want a much more powerful camera. I just don't want to have to buy it now. ;)
