I'm a little out of touch lately when it comes to the world of computers. A few people have asked me what I would recommend, and since technology changes so quickly, I seriously can't give them an educated answer anymore. I find it frustrating. Of course, then I feel the need to do research (whether it's necessary or not) and then follow up with my friends to let them know, but it's such a pain sometimes. Who has time for that sort of thing?
I have found that Wize.com seems to be pretty cool about offering opinions and ratings for plenty of computer related items. I've looked at their motherboard reviews and processor reviews to help get me up to speed on a few things. Quite honestly, some of the rankings on the page for motherboard reviews surprised me, but like I said, I'm out of touch.
Since these are ratings from various sites pulled into one site and anyone can write a review, I would still take the info gathered there with a grain of salt. I noticed my laptop was one of the top machines listed, but when I read some of the reviews (positive and negative both), I realized not everyone commenting was a top notch sys admin or hardware geek (not that I am either, mind you). What Wize.com boils down to is a conglomeration of opinions of the everyday Joe for the everyday Joe. This way, people get to see how the product has fared with others.
