I recently posted this about the crappy deal first wave iPhone buyers received. Well, it seems as though Apple has realized how poorly this made them look and decided to give their loyal customers a little bit of a break. Granted, it's only a store credit, and it's only for $100, but it's better than nothing, I suppose. I still won't be buying one anytime soon.

1) they had planned on the credit all along. It's also the price of technology; they didn't have to offer it at all
2) Amex, if you bought your phone with one, will also give you a $200 "cash" rebate.
3) investers are all impressed they're doing it (as stock holders, we hear all of this)
From your previous post, you actually can unlock them with a smidge of work to work with any provider. Just sayin
I wouldn't buy one either, because I have no extra cash. But having one in the household, getting to see all its cool features...yeah, almost makes me wish I did...
